Overview

In it’s 46th year, this course covers current issues in antepartum and intrapartum assessment and clinical management in obstetrics.  The course is designed for physicians, midwives, obstetric nurses, and trainees. The faculty instructors are internationally known through their clinical and basic research, scholarly articles, and texts.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Counsel patients regarding prenatal carrier screening and aneuploidy screening;
  • Manage and treat hypertension postpartum;
  • Appropriately manage fetal heart rate tracings in labor;
  • Describe and manage thyroid disease in pregnancy;
  • Describe and manage appropriate follow up of gestational diabetes;
  • Manage and treat selected maternal medical complications of pregnancy and delivery using evidence-based guidelines.

Onsite and Live Stream Conference

The course sessions will take place at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco.  Live Stream and Onsite registrants will receive instructions along with the digital syllabus a week before the conference.  Included in your registration fee is access to the course recordings on demand after the conference and for 30 days after the course. You must tune in to live conference (in person or remotely) to claim CME.  All course times listed are Pacific Standard Time.

This conference will follow UCSF, city, state, and federal health and safety guidelines for meeting in person.  At this time that includes recommended masking and completing a daily health screener.  By registering for the in-person conference attendees agree to adhere to these guidelines.  We will provide information on any requirements in advance of the conference.

Speciality Credit

AMCB Credit
AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM is accepted by the Certificate Maintenance Program (CMP) of the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) for programs relevant to midwifery. Certified nurse-midwives and certified midwives attending this program may report 18.00 credit hours.

ACOG Credit
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has assigned up to 18 cognate credits to this program.

Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring
The approved credits include 2.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM towards Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring and Assessment Education.

Pharmacotherapeutics CEUs for Nurses
This activity is designated for a maximum of 4.50 pharmaco-therapeutic credits towards meeting the requirement for nursing pharmacology continuing education. Nurses should claim 0.1 CEUs for each contact hour of participation in designated pharmacotherapeutic continuing education.
