Overview
To reduce barriers to care for people who might otherwise avoid seeing a doctor and to provide training to Providers regarding routine health procedures, hormone management, bone health, surgical techniques and complications, voice concerns, pre-pubertal issues, ethical considerations which are unique to the transgender population.
Target Audience
Endocrinologists, primary care providers, PAs, social workers, PhD researchers, psychologists, pharmacists, Advanced Practice Providers (RNs, PAs, NPs)

Objectives
- Utilize various regimens of providing cross‐gender hormone therapy;
- Appropriately advise transgender patients about the range of surgical procedures and relevant perioperative primary care available to them;
- Counsel transgender patients on reproductive health considerations as well as general gynecologic health
- Improve diagnosis, evaluation and medical management in transgender children and adolescents with hormones and pubertal blockers;
- Apply key management issues in the care of transgender patients with mental health dual diagnoses;
- Integrate current research and evidence based practices in transgender health and mental health care into clinical practice.
Accreditation
The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.

The University of California, San Francisco’s Center of Excellence for Transgender Health (CoE), Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS), and Alliance Health Project (AHP) are inviting potential vendors and exhibitors to be a part of the 2023 National Transgender Health Summit (2023 NTHS). This biennial event attracts over 900 attendees including medical educators, physicians, behavioral health providers, researchers, allied health professionals, department health and government officials as well as members, leaders and advocates of the trans community,
The 2023 NTHS aims are to increase healthcare and social services provider skills in the provision of optimal HIV prevention, treatment, and care for transgender patients and to provide a professional forum for disseminating best practices, innovative techniques, and cutting-edge research to over 900 providers of transgender health and HIV prevention services.
