Overview
This Virtual Live-Steam course is designed to Educate and empower health care providers regarding an interdisciplinary approach to children with lower limb differences, deformities and length discrepancies.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This conference is tailored towards Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physicians, Pediatricians and Family Physicians, Orthotists & Prosthetists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists.
Live Stream Meeting
This course will be offered as a virtual conference. Login instructions along with the digital syllabus will be shared with the attendees a week before the meeting. Included in your registration fee is access to the course recordings on demand (Available within a week after the conference) for any session that you miss, available for 30 days after the course.
Objectives
An attendee completing this course will be able to apply acquired skills and strategies to:
- Identify the causes of pediatric lower limb differences (complex limb deformities)
- Discuss the comprehensive management of children with lower limb differences
- Describe an interdisciplinary team approach to managing children with lower limb differences
- Review the role of physical rehabilitation in managing children undergoing limb lengthening
- Identify the potential complications encountered during limb lengthening and strategies to avoid them
Accreditation
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.
Nurses
For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Physician Assistants
AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Pharmacists
The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
