Objectives

An attendee completing this course will be able to improve skills and strategies for:

  • Management of complex and complicated cataract surgical patients
  • Advantages and disadvantages of new instrumentation for cataract surgery, including non-phacoemulsification cataract removal and new types of intraocular lenses.
  • Evaluating biosimilar drugs for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema.
  • Management of dry eye disease using anti-inflammatory medications.
  • Updates on the use of fillers and botulinum toxin in the management of aging-related changes.
  • Strategy and patient selection for minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery.
  • Formula selection in ocular biometry to achieve the best patient outcomes.
  • Firstline management of newly diagnosed glaucoma with drops and selective laser trabeculoplasty.
  • Use of alternative intraoperative visualization technqiues, such as heads-up visualization and intraoperative ocular coherence tomography.
  • Update on the most important advances in the fields of retina, glaucoma, cornea, neuro ophthalmology, pediatrics, and oculoplastics.

Operates Monday through Friday in peak AM and PM commuting times.

West Route serves Berry and Owens Streets from Powell St. Station (5th and Market). The Owens St. stop is directly in front of the conference center.

CALTRAIN-TRANSBAY route serves Owens, Berry, Montgomery Bart (2nd @ Stevenson), Harrison, 4th St., MBBS, and Illinois streets from Salesforce Terminal at 500 Howard St.
