Objectives
An attendee completing this course will be able to improve skills and strategies for:
- Management of complex and complicated cataract surgical patients
- Advantages and disadvantages of new instrumentation for cataract surgery, including non-phacoemulsification cataract removal and new types of intraocular lenses.
- Evaluating biosimilar drugs for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema.
- Management of dry eye disease using anti-inflammatory medications.
- Updates on the use of fillers and botulinum toxin in the management of aging-related changes.
- Strategy and patient selection for minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery.
- Formula selection in ocular biometry to achieve the best patient outcomes.
- Firstline management of newly diagnosed glaucoma with drops and selective laser trabeculoplasty.
- Use of alternative intraoperative visualization technqiues, such as heads-up visualization and intraoperative ocular coherence tomography.
- Update on the most important advances in the fields of retina, glaucoma, cornea, neuro ophthalmology, pediatrics, and oculoplastics.
