Overview
Three full-day sessions Tues/ Wed/ Thursday, half-day morning session on Friday.
Course content to include didactic lectures, challenging cases, liver tumor board faculty panel.
Optional "hot seat" cases session and vendor theater.
25+ UCSF Faculty from the Interventional, Radiology, Surgery and Medicine departments.
To be held at the UCSF Parnassus campus, near the southeast corner of Golden Gate Park.
Small classroom format, limited to 30 registrants. Breakfast and lunch are provided.
Objectives
At the completion of this course, the attendee will be able to:
- Improve technique in arterial and venous interventions;
- Understand the scope of interventional oncology procedures;
- Describe indications and recommend techniques for gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract interventions;
- Know the benefits and limitations in selecting IR devices (balloons, stents, catheters, etc);
- Correctly interpret CT, MR, US, and angiographic vascular images;
- Understand the scope of Neurointerventional and Musculoskeletal interventions;
- Identify potential pitfalls and safety issues associated with IR procedures in order to minimize complications.
Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, the University of California, San Francisco is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
