Overview
This meeting is designed for the practicing neurologist and provides a review of clinical neurology with emphasis on areas of recent advances and progress in patient management. Both current concepts and new advances in neurologic disorders will be covered.
Educational Objectives
Based on discussions with UCSF faculty and practicing physicians at other institutions, the topics were chosen based on physician-identified need for practice-based knowledge.
The purpose of this program is to increase attendee competence and improve clinical practice in neurology, specifically to:
- Apply new concepts to epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, aging and movement disorders in practice;
- Recognize and select diagnosis and management of stroke, multiple sclerosis, headache, dementia, and apply best practices for their management.
Onsite and Remote Learning Options
The course will be offered as a live conference. Registrants have the option to attend in person or to tune in remotely via zoom live stream during programming hours (Pacific Time). Login instructions along with the digital syllabus will be shared with attendees before the meeting. Included in your registration fee is access to the course recordings on demand after the conference and for 30 days after the course. You must tune in to the live conference (in person or remotely) to claim CME.
Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, the University of California, San Francisco is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 16.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency.
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) MOC: This course features a post-test which is valid toward meeting the MOC Part II self-assessment requirements for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. ABPN diplomates will receive 16.00 Self-Assessment Category 1 CME credits after passing the post-test.
Geriatric Medicine: The approved credits shown above include 1.75 credits toward meeting the requirement under California Assembly Bill 1820, Geriatric Medicine.
Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Pharmacy: The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and have been approved for AMA PRA. Category 1 CreditTM. Pharmacotherapeutics CEUs for Nurses: For the purposes of recertification the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. This activity is designated for a maximum of 4.75 pharmacotherapeutic credits towards meeting the requirement for nursing pharmacology continuing education. Nurses should claim 0.1 CEUs for each contact hour of participation in designated pharmacotherapeutic continuing education.
Pain Management and End-of-Life Care: Approved credits include 0.75 toward meeting the requirement under California Assembly Bill 487, Pain Management and End-of-Life Care.
