Overview

The Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco invites you to attend its Imaging Warm Up in the Caribbean course on December 8- 12, 2025. The course will present a comprehensive review of clinically relevant topics in breast, head and neck, brain, chest, and kidney with special attention to imaging findings, reporting and management guidelines, and multimodality evaluation.

Presentations will review indications that are commonly seen in general practice and will highlight state-of-the-art imaging approaches. Additional special sessions will be interactive, with real-time review of unknown cases by faculty and attendees.

Objectives

The purpose of this course is to increase competence and improve clinician practice in radiology. We specifically anticipate improvements in skills and strategies to:

  • Apply strategic approaches for avoiding common misdiagnoses of focal musculoskeletal lesions and injuries.
  • Review an optimized list of findings for identifying or excluding the most common causes of impingement involving the hips and pelvis.
  • Develop a BI-RADS based approach to determine an appropriate management and recommendation for breast calcifications
  • Identify indications for breast MRI, and identify key pre-surgical findings in the patient with newly diagnosed breast cancer
  • Identify do not miss emergent head and neck findings
  • Apply a strategic approach to interpreting the source of intracranial hemorrhage
  • Recognize patterns of pulmonary infection in immunocompromised patients
  • Identify and appropriately stage pancreatic adenocarcinoma
  • Identify do not miss vascular lesions in the emergency department
