Overview

The Department of Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco invites you to attend the Imaging Update in Los Cabos course on December 8 -13, 2024. The course will take place at the Dreams Los Cabos, an all-inclusive resort. Registrants securing accommodations in the course room block will receive a $500 discount off of the standard registration fees. As all meals are provided at Dreams Los Cabos, there will only be coffee service provided at the course.

The course is designed for radiologists in clinical practice and is intended to provide an overview of common clinical concerns in diagnosis. Lectures will focus on practical tips, pointers, and recognition of potential pitfalls that will aid the radiologist in the safe interpretation of images in the daily setting. Subspecialties covered will include cutting-edge topics in neuro, musculoskeletal, women’s, and pediatric imaging as well as what is new on the horizon.

Presentations will review indications that are commonly seen in general practice. The esteemed faculty will address updates to improve image acquisition and interpretation strategies with the goal of improving communication when referring cases to clinical and academic specialists.

Objectives

An attendee completing this course will be able to:

  • Select imaging approaches for oncology patients, as well as patients with a wide variety of liver, lung and musculoskeletal symptoms
  • Identify indications to screen for cancer, including lung and breast cancer
  • Recognize common imaging pitfalls, including imaging after loco-regional therapies, patients with suspected pulmonary embolism, and patients being screened for breast cancer
  • Apply knowledge of the strengths and weakness of imaging with PET/CT
  • Implement utilization of diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal procedures and common joint injections
  • Identify important imaging characteristics of infection, bone, and soft-tissue tumors
  • Identify the normal imaging appearance of the neonatal brain & spine, and the appearance of acquired and congenital abnormalitiesz

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Up to 121 days prior to arrival, $50 USD cancellation fee applies.  
  • From 120 days to 91 days prior to arrival: room cancellation will result in one night charge.
  • From 90 days to 31 days prior to arrival: room cancellation will result in two nights charge.
  • Room cancellation 30 days or less before arrival of the group and No Shows, will result in a 100% penalty.
  • Any reservations modified for reduction will be charged a $50.00 fee per modification.

The cancellation penalties will be applied directly to the guest’s credit card.
