Overview

This course encompasses a diverse review of conventional and advanced imaging of the thoracic, body, neuro, and musculoskeletal systems.  Pediatric imaging and molecular imaging & therapeutics topics will also be covered. The goal is to enhance the interpretation of imaging studies acquired in a wide range of common clinical scenarios. The course will provide an update on a variety of established clinical applications, but will also cover emerging technologies. Practical approaches to imaging interpretation will be presented so as to be useful to radiologists from all types of clinical practice.
 
Five half-day morning sessions Sunday thru Friday, with a full-day off on Wednesday.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Minimize interpretation errors;
  • Form appropriate differential diagnosis based upon multi-modality imaging of the key organ systems;
  • Recognize key oncologic findings of the head/neck, chest, and abdomen/pelvis on multimodality imaging
  • Identify important imaging findings in imaging of acute chest and abdominal pain;
  • Describe key findings of disease on MRI of the brain and spine;
  • Recognize imaging signs of joint dysfunction in the knee and shoulder;
  • Understand multimodality imaging findings of malignancy in the head and neck, chest, and abdomen and pelvis;
  • Identify pediatric traumatic injury and non-accidental trauma patterns;
  • Recognize common indications for and pitfalls of nuclear medicine imaging.

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians
UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 25.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, Continuing Education and Cultural and Linguistic Competency.
