Overview

This course will focus on Abdominal, Thoracic, and US imaging strategies, taught by some of UCSF’s top instructors.  The goal is to improve image acquisition and interpretation in a wide range of common clinical scenarios. Practical approaches will be presented so as to be useful to radiologists from all types of clinical practice.
 
Five half-day morning sessions Sunday thru Friday, with a full-day off on Wednesday.

 

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss a practical approach to urgent imaging indications such as pulmonary embolism, aortic dissection, and ectopic pregnancy;
  • Describe the role of CT and MRI in the evaluation of vascular diseases;
  • Identify the key imaging findings and patterns of a variety of lung diseases;
  • Review an imaging approach to thoracic and abdominal malignancies;
  • Understand the significance of incidental imaging findings and what steps should be undertaken after their identification.

 

 

Accreditation

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians
UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 25.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The total credits are inclusive of 14.5 in CT, 2.5 in MRI, and 8.0 in Ultrasound.

This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, Continuing Education and Cultural and Linguistic Competency.

Nurses
For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. 

Physician Assistants
AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Reduced daily resort charge of $30 for UCSF attendees who register through the group block (normally $45). Room rates are subject to all state and local taxes.
