Overview
The goal of this course is to enhance the interpretation of body imaging studies and to improve clinical practice. This will be achieved by providing an updated review of state-of-the-art imaging methods and evidence-based practice utilizing CT, MR, ultrasound, radiography and fluoroscopy as they pertain to the evaluation of gastrointestinal, genitourinary, obstetric and vascular conditions. The ACR and other societal guidelines on management of image findings will be discussed as appropriate.
Objectives
- Identify indications for the use of different imaging modalities (CT/MRI/US) for various abdominopelvic and vascular conditions;
- Recognize and diagnose both benign and malignant diseases of the abdomen and pelvis;
- Anticipate potential pitfalls in abdominopelvic imaging and interpretation;
- Identify signs of and diagnose pregnancy failure;
- Differentiate between and diagnose normal, normal variant and abnormal findings on 2nd Trimester OB Ultrasound.
