Overview

Educational Goals
An overview of the Cognitive Processing Therapy with underserved populations, a type of cognitive behavioral therapy that has been effective in reducing symptoms of PTSD.

Live Stream Meeting
This course will be offered as a virtual conference. Login instructions along with the digital syllabus will be shared with the attendees a week before the meeting. Included in your registration fee is access to the course recordings on demand after the conference and for 30 days after the course. You must tune in to the live conference (in person or remotely) to claim CME.

 

Learning Objectives

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the core principles of CPT, how it works and the evidence base for CPT
  • Understand uses of CPT for complex trauma with underserved populations
  • Understand the diversity considerations of using CPT with underserved populations
  • “Myth-busting”: Evidence based therapies and trauma treatment (ex. adaptations, addiction, etc.)

ACCME: UCSF has approved this program for CME credit: UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

APA: Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

ASWB: As a Jointly Accredited Organization, UCSF Continuing Education is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 15.00 general credits.

Interprofessional Continuing Education Credit (IPCE): This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 15.00 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.

To be eligible for CEUs, participants must attend the entire presentation, complete the evaluation, and pay a one-time 2024-2025 fee of $50 to UCSF OCME. 
ASWB ACE credit: This credit is accepted for social workers in all states except the States of New York and New Jersey. 
APA credit: The American Psychological Association covers all psychologists in the US except for the State of New York. 
CME credit: This credit is accepted in all states toward continuing education requirements for physicians. Psychologists and Advanced Practice Practitioners may use this credit if their state Board accepts it, i.e., on a state-by-state basis.
